ECOWAPP (West African Power Pool)

The EcoWapp platform was designed to facilitate secure and efficient information sharing among partners and stakeholders in the West African Power Pool (WAPP). It supports the development of a comprehensive power transmission network across the region by providing a centralised, accurate, and up-to-date data repository. This promotes collaboration among countries, aids in establishing a regulatory framework that enforces common operating standards, and identifies investment opportunities in critical infrastructure. Kartoza was contracted by Woolpert on behalf of ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) to developed, deploy, and host this platform, which utilises PostgreSQL for storage alongside GeoServer and GeoNode to provide diverse data access and visualisation options.
